Monday, September 27th, 1909: Locust Fork's Kid O'Hara teed off on opposing pitching all season long and claimed the Sub League 2 Outstanding Hitter Award today.
He belted out 136 hits in 482 at-bats to compile a .282 batting average and a .387 on-base percentage in 1909. He also tallied 23 doubles, 8 triples, 15 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 72 runs scored.

Monday, September 27th, 1909: Jack Graney put together a fine season at the plate for Laredo, capturing one of baseball's most coveted offensive honors, the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award.
He posted a .275 batting average and a .388 on-base percentage this year while reeling off 134 hits, 24 doubles, 15 triples, 4 home runs and 61 RBIs.

 | Sub League 2 Best Pitcher Named
Sunday, September 26th, 1909: The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 1909 has been presented and the Sub League 2 winner is Gus Salve of Salisbury.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Salve. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Energy star told reporters.
Salve excelled with an impressive 38-33 record in 77 starts. In 670.2 innings he yielded 565 hits and 181 walks, while striking out 376 and compiling a fine 2.15 ERA.
